Teaching about Data Collection

This table, Overview of Basic Methods to Collect Information, concisely describes the purpose (along with advantages and challenges) for surveys, interviews, focus groups, etc. Especially the Challenges column can help a faculty group in deciding what method to adopt when beginning a new initiative. Recommended use: for people new to assessment.
